Successful Compensation Claim Receives £14,000 Car Accident Compensation

A young boy, who was seriously injured when he was run over on a pedestrian crossing, has won a car accident compensation claim totalling £14,000.
Liam Brickell of New Ferry, Wirral in Merseyside was just a three year old toddler, crossing the road close to his home, with his mother, Nicola Watkins, when he was hit by an uninsured, disqualified driver who failed to stop at a red light.
Liam suffered serious head injuries and internal injuries in the accident and had to be treated at the high dependency unit at Wirral’s Arrowe Park Hospital.
Liam’s mum was reported to have said: “It’s been confirmed that there’s no brain damage, which was always our primary concern, especially during the six weeks I took off work to care for Liam and help him with his pain relief medication. With the settlement finalising, I feel like we’ve done everything we can do for now. In terms of any sort of cosmetic surgery for his scarring, we’ll help Liam make the decision when he’s older.”
The driver of the Vauxhall Cavalier involved in the car accident was branded as cowardly and extremely callous by the judge, who sentenced him to two years in jail and banned him from driving for five years.
