Wrist injuries can be very painful and disabling. An injury to the wrist should be taken very seriously and you should seek medical help as soon as possible. Like most compensation claims the severity of the injury and the amount of suffering will all be taken into consideration when calculating the compensation amount.
Accidents that can cause wrist injuries:
- Road traffic accidents such as car crashes and motorbike collisions
- Slipping and/or tripping accidents
- Accidents in the workplace including heavy objects falling or chemicals
- Physical assault
- Sporting accidents and collisions
Wrist injuries can include fractured wrists, sprained wrists, dislocation, torn ligaments, tendon damage and repetitive wrist injuries.
Wrist injury compensation amounts:
- Minor wrist injury such as an uncomplicated fracture with full recovery: up to £3,125 wrist injury compensation.
- Severe disability or pain and stiffness to the wrist: up to £16,100 wrist injury compensation.
- Injuries resulting in significant or permanent disability: up to £25,750 wrist injury compensation.
- Injuries resulting in complete loss of function in the wrist, for example when an arthrodesis has been performed: up to £39,300 wrist injury compensation.
Compensation for wrist injury claims can also be awarded for loss of earnings, both past and future if the injury is serious enough to prevent the injured party working again and for associated losses such as medication, and treatments like physiotherapy or psychological help.
